Frequently Asked Questions

What Rule Set Do You Use? / How Do I Sign Up For Matches?

Current matches run by CASS use the PCSL rulebook with modified courses of fire to create "tactical" feeling stages. We use walls instead of fault lines and our courses of fire adjust magazine capacity so that skills such as reloads and pistol transitions are tested.

Our registration process is streamlined through Practiscore. Squadding and scoring is done through Practiscore as well.

What Should I Bring?

For PCSL matches, the minimum equipment is a rifle with sling, a handgun with holster (No SERPA or Uncle Mike fabric holsters), magazines and 100 rounds for each. We require all participants wear safety glasses and electronic ear protection.

How Are Events Run? / How Should I Show Up?

Please show up before the safety briefing with all guns cased and unloaded. After check in with the match staff, you may holster your COLD handgun at a safety area. ALL FIREARMS ARE COLD UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO LOAD BY A RANGE OFFICER. Do not handle firearms outside of supervision of a range officer or in a designated safety area. The setup team arrives a few hours before the event to move the props to the bays if you would like to help out.

What Skill Level Should I Be To Attend A Match?

CASS matches are open to any skill level from beginner to advanced. We ask that participants be familiar with their firearms and common manipulation before attending a match. If this is your first match please notify the range staff so they can be aware and help you where needed.

What Do You Use to Make Your Stage Designs?

We use a tool called Practisim Designer, developed by a local action shooter. Practisim has LIDAR scans of the local ranges and a great supply of 3d modeled props for USPSA / Multigun / PCSL.
